Queensland Rail this year celebrates 150 years of operating through the state.
Its hard to fathom just what travel was like all those years ago.
Never fear, for there’s a chance to jump aboard a little piece of history this Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
Tickets are selling fast for the two Steam Train trips from Goondiwindi to Toobeah on Sunday 7 June 2015.
President of the Customs House Committee, David McMahon said the 7.30 am and 12 noon trips continue to be popular with locals.
“There is no need to bring any food along, the Toobeah Kindy and the Bungunya P& C are providing morning tea and lunch respectively.
“This year we have the added bonus of Model T’s, MG’s and other classic cars accompanying the steam train to Toobeah. Motorcyclists will also trek their way to Toobeah so it should be quite a sight in Toobeah that day.”
“Get in quick to obtain your tickets to avoid disappointment.”
Tickets are $40.00, Children/Concession $35 and a Family ticket of two adults and two children $120.
Steam Train tickets can be purchased from the Customs House, Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 9.00am and 1.00pm.”
