The drive to and from the state capital is about to get a lot safer.
Construction on a vital $10 million upgrade at the Warrego Highway/Lowood-Minden Road and Tallegalla Road intersection has begun.
The section of road has been targeted to upgrade by the Targeted Road Safety Program which is primarily sourced from revenue collected from the Camera Detected Offence Program.
Fifty-four people have been injured in 32 crashes at this intersection between 2007 and 23 July 2017 and the upgrade aims to improve safety and provide safer bus stop locations off the Warrego Highway.
Works will continue until early 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting.
