Applications are closing soon for the 2018 Australian Grain Leaders Program, a highly successful decade old program that has been run by GrainGrowers to support the development of emerging grain industry leaders.
During the 12 month program, Luke investigated farming systems groups and commenced discussions with farmers from across industries to look at the development of a farming systems group in central Queensland.
He has committed to progressing his own leadership in the grains industry and was named a 2017 Nuffield scholar.
This year Luke has travelled to some of the world’s best farming enterprises with the aim of reigniting Australian leadership in precision agriculture.
CEO, Dr Michael Southan says that for the first time , GrainGrowers is offering the 2018 program to the full grains industry, not just exclusively to farmers.
“We have widened the intake for next year’s program with the intention of attracting a mix of farmers, executives and workers from across all sectors of the industry to build greater rapport and understanding of how the industry’s different sectors can work cooperatively together to build stronger outcomes for all,” he said.
