Goondiwindi Regional Council Mayor Graeme Scheu today took the opportunity to congratulate the success of one of our region’s producers named as a finalist for the 2019 Champion Milk of Australia.
Local diary producer Barambah Organics has been named as one of the top three light milks in the country in the Australian Grand Dairy Awards. Their ‘Light Milk’ product is a finalist in the Speciality White Dairy Drink category, up against two products by northern New South Wales dairy giant Norco.
The winner will be announced on 31 January 2019.
Jane Campbell at Barambah Organics says they’re up against some tough competition.
“It’s good for our team’s morale to be in the running and to be recognised as one of the best three Light Milks in the country. The health and wellbeing of the herd is [Barambah Organics’] priority,’ Ms Campbell said. ‘Our team know just how important it is to keep our animals happy. Happy cows make for good milk.”
Mayor Graeme Scheu congratulated the team on the scale of their achievement and said he continues to be impressed by the success of our region’s produce.
“We should all be so proud of some of the outstanding producers we have in the Goondiwindi region. Our agricultural excellence is the real backbone to our community and it’s great to see that recognised and so much positivity from people who get behind our producers.”
The Australian Grand Dairy Awards began in 1999 to recognise excellence and innovation in Australian dairy produce. Dairy products must be made from Australian milk and have been awarded a gold medal in state-wide competitions in order to qualify for entry.
Barambah Organics products are only available at independent stores like the Co-Op in Goondiwindi and the Spar in Inglewood.
