The Men of League Legacy golf day 2017 has seen record numbers tee off over the weekend at the Goondiwindi Golf Club for its major fundraiser for the year.
And his presence created a deal of focus on his game…. While his football skills are on par, some locals say his golfing skills are something to be left to talk about.
What isn’t in doubt or under question is the assistance to a special day his attendance gave.
This year the golf day was held in conjunction with Remembrance Day and added a special feeling to the day.
Goondiwindi Men of League Branch President Ernie Silcock says he’s been overwhelmed with the turn out for the day.
“It has been a really great day, we have had record numbers and I think everyone has really enjoyed the day.”
Mr Silcock says the golf day caps off a great year for the Goondiwindi branch who provide a great service to the rugby league community.
They’re responsible for everything from running the bar at Goondiwindi Senior Rugby League games to helping former players and families with general work and chores where needed while raising money for Men of League.
The Goondiwindi branch would like to thank all the sponsors that took part in the day.
