Grants totalling $85,000 are available to communities across the State to host Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW) community awareness events.
Individual grants up to $2,500 are now open to local government, non-government and community groups hosting events and activities during QMHW, from 8-14 October 2017.
Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Ivan Frkovic says the new grant program is funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission and managed by the Commission’s partner, the Queensland Alliance for Mental Health (QAMH).
“Mental health week is about valuing our mental health and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing for all Queenslanders.”
The grants offset expenses such as engaging specialists for workshops or seminars, venue and equipment hire, refreshments, and printing or photocopying of information resources.
Grant Application Forms and Application Guidelines are available on the QAMH, QMHW and Queensland Mental Health Commission websites.
Events must be registered on the QMHW website, which also includes a range of event ideas, information and resources.
