They might only have been together for a year but Kate Paganin and champion mare Comet make one winning team!
They’ve taken on all manner of competition in the zone, state and national championships and resulted in some tremendous accolades.
In mid March, Kate and Comet received their award as Australian ANSA High Point Pony Club Winner 2015 with a clear and decisive margin, receiving a rug, trophy and certificate to mark the achievement.
The award was a culmination of work across several competitions and shows, most notably the QLD State Championships in October 2015, where Kate was the youngest competitor on the grounds in the three days of competition in the Formal Gymkhana, Sporting Gymkhana and Mounted Games.
Kate and Comet also received Certificates for being in the Top Ten for the ANSA High Point Campdrafting and High Point Youth 2015 categories where Kate competed against adults in the campdrafting category.
And its nothing new for the 22-year-old mare who retired from top-level competition including four campdrafts in a row in 2004.
Together, they make a winning team!
It has been a summer of swims, long rides on the farm and tea parties for Kate and Comet but with competition season just beginning Kate and Comet are looking to build on their 2015 success.
We wish them both the best of luck this year.
