Despite the short notice, last year’s “last-minute” Christmas Carols in Inglewood turned out to be such a success that this year they’re coming back for a second jingle!

“This year because more people have spoken about it we’ve actually bought it back a week earlier… so we’re expecting even more people to come along,” says event organiser Michelle Shaw.

In true summer spirit, the Christmas Carols will be held at the Inglewood Swimming Pool, where people can cool off in the water before tuning up their singing voices to join in with the carols.

Another highlight will be the opportunity to for families to get their Christmas photo taken by a local photographer.

With the Lions Club on board to help fund raising, there will be a number of festive raffles and a big BBQ to feed hungry vocalists.

“It’s just everyone getting together and just enjoying the spirit… kids can have a play and parents can relax,” says Ms Shaw.

Performers will include kids from the Catholic School, Swimming Club and Pony Club as well as the Inglewood Police, Cadets, 60s and Better, Lions Club and Little Theatre.

The event will be held on Sunday, December 13 with the pool party kicking off at 3pm and carols beginning at 6:30pm.

A $2 entry fee will cover the cost of a Christmas carol booklet and LED candle for everyone who attends.

Attendees are advised to bring chairs or a picnic rug, and don’t forget to pack your best smile – Plus More News will be there to capture the highlights of the afternoon!
