Heavy Rain Across the Region

Council’s Disaster Management team say they are monitoring the rainfall event closely and report that so far falls of up to and in excess of 60mm have been recorded over a number of catchments.car driving in rain

The Council team is calling for whole of community vigilance and for us all to be prepared.

“Keep your regular supplies of essential items and emergency equipment on hand. Those camping on riverbanks along the river need to be very aware that weather and river conditions can change very quickly.”

Police also advice that when travelling by road, please exercise caution.

Back off a bit, drive to conditions and adhere to flood markers.
