Goondiwindi Town Common Bushfire


Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are continuing to monitor that a bushfire burning near Town Common Road, Town Common at Goondiwindi this morning.

This fire broke out at 10.30am yesterday and is burning safely within containment lines.

Firefighters say there’s no threat to property at this time and have now finished backburning operations in the area.

QFES warns residents however in the Riverview Terrace, Blue Gums Drive, Clarkes Road and Leopard Tree Drive that they may again be affected by smoke throughout the day.

Residents should close windows and doors, and keep medications close by if suffering from a respiratory condition. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
