Goondiwindi and Talwood Police Report 1 Feb

Break and enter

During the night of the 30th January it has been reported to Police that a house in Coolabah Court was subject to a break and enter. It was reported that unknown offender/s have gained entry to the house via a front bedroom window and have removed a wallet containing a quantity of money.

At the time of the offence the owner of the house was home may have disturbed the offender.

Police urge anybody that may have seen anything to contact either Police Link on 131444 or Goondiwindi Police on 46717777.

 

During that same night, it has been reported to Police that the Coolabah Early Childhood Centre was subject to a break and enter also.

Police report that entry was made by way of force to a side glass door and it appears that currently nil property was taken.

 

GSPS Canteen theft

Between the 29th and 31st January it has been reported that Goondiwindi State Primary School had its canteen entered. It has been reported that offender/s have gained entry into the canteen by force and have removed several contents of the canteen.

Police are still investigating this offence and are yet to determine if the break at the Early Childhood Centre is linked.

Bus crash

On the 27th January at about 4:30am a bus travelling down Elizabeth Drive, Goondiwindi has failed to negotiate a left hand bend and as collided with the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre.

The 67 year old male driver of a Yelarbon address was the sole occupant of the bus and was taken to Goondiwindi Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Emergency services attended to the scene as the bus came to rest on a series of large gas bottles which were initially leaking.

The 67 year old male driver was spoken to and later charged by Police for driving without due care and attention and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The driver will face Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on the 17th February in relation to the matter.

 

Glasser St theft

During the night of the 26th January it was reported to Police that an address in Glasser Street, Goondiwindi was subject to a stealing offence.

Police report that during the night a pair of driving lights were removed from a vehicle which was parked in a carport next to the house.

Police are continuing their investigation and urge anybody with information to contact Police Link on 131444 or Goondiwindi Police on 4671 7777.

 

Leichhardt Hwy evasion

On the 27th January at about 11:30am Goondiwindi Police were patrolling the Leichhardt Highway at Moonie for a vehicle.

Police came across the vehicle and activated there lights and sirens.

The vehicle did not stop and subsequently evaded Police.

Queensland Police are continuing to investigate the movements of the wanted persons.

 

Unlicensed driving

On the 28th January Goondiwindi Police intercepted a vehicle on Callandoon Street, Goondiwindi. Police spoke to a 33 year old male of a Goondiwindi address who did not have a current drivers licence.

He was arrested and charged with unlicensed driving to appear before the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on the 17th February in relation to the matter.

 

RBT

On the 30th January at about 2:30am Police intercepted a vehicle in Bowen Street, Goondiwindi. Police spoke to a 44 year old male from a Goondiwindi address.

The male driver failed the initial road side breath test and was transported to the Goondiwindi Police Station where he provided a breath analysis reading of 0.198% and was issued with a Notice to Appear before the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on the 17th February in relation to the high range drink driving charge.

The male drivers licence was also suspended until his court date.

On the 31st January at about 2:30am Police intercepted a vehicle on Moffatt Street Goondiwindi.

Police spoke to a 38 year old male of a Goondiwindi address. The male driver failed an initial road side breath test and was transported to the Goondiwindi Police Station for a further test.

The male driver provided a breath analysis of 0.078% and was issued with a Notice to Appear before the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on the 17th February. The drivers licence was also suspended for 24 hours.

 

Unregistered driving

On the 30th January at about 3:30am Police intercepted a vehicle on Bowen Street, Goondiwindi. Police spoke to a 49 year old female of a Boggabilla address.

The female driver was spoken to regarding the vehicle not being registered or insured and was subsequently issued with two infringement notices for such.
