Local kids perform swimmingly at Gatton Carnival

A group of Texas and Inglewood school kids competed in the Gatton Swim Carnival on Wednesday March 2 as part of the Darling Downs primary school regionals and school zone nominations.

The pressure was on as the kids swam to impress,  hoping for a spot on the Darling Downs swim team.

All the kids did a great job, with a handful making the cut to the Darling Downs teams

Harry Wright took home gold in the under 10 category for 100m freestyle, as well as silver for 50m freestyle and bronze in the 50m and was selected for the team.

Holly Campbell placed 4th in the freestyle event and also made the cut.

Lily Harms came 1st in the under 10 100m freestyle and 2nd in the 50m and was selected for the team.

Braithen Scott wowed the crowd and won all four of his events, although was just a tad too young to be selected for the team. He was awarded the Age Champion on the day.

The carnival was full of smiles and fun as several competitors even managed to smash their PBs.
