Your 2015 State Election Candidates

Lawrence Springborg is the local state LNP Member for Southern Downs and the Minister for Health.

Having cemented a reputation as a local leader and local champion for Southern Downs, Lawrence knows the issues facing our community.

At 46 years old, Lawrence has lived and worked his life in the Southern Downs – indeed his Springborg ancestors, who were Danish migrants, first settled in the area in the 1880’s.

That’s why Lawrence is passionate about our community, passionate about its future and passionate about ensuring we get our fair share of services and funding.

Brought up on a small mixed-farming property close to the Queensland-New South Wales border where Lawrence, Linda and their four children live today, Lawrence became the youngest person ever elected to the Queensland Parliament at just 21.

As part of the LNP’s strong local team, investment in the regions has increased, crime is down, schools are properly maintained, wait times are down for dental and health services and unnecessary red tape for our agricultural and primary producers has been slashed.

Working on and managing the family property, Lawrence is not afraid of hard work and has a passion for regional Queensland.

Lawrence is an advocate for our region and continues to ensure our views are heard in the Queensland Parliament.

Instrumental in the creation of the Liberal National Party, Lawrence is your local voice in an LNP government with a strong plan for a brighter future.
